Bree was born normal and it was after the first month that I had some concerns as she wasn't growing nor was she very active. After taking her her to the vet, I learned she has a very substantial heart murmur. I decided to take her to the specialist and it was there that my heart was broken as I couldn't fix my little Bree. I then decided that I would make a stand and no matter what the cost, I was not going to go through this heartache again nor would I submit one of my pet owners to it either. I then made the decision that all of Kaylee's adults used in our breeding program will be scanned yearly for heart murmurs and any heart abnormalities. I am one of only two breeders on the Eastern seaboard that I know of that has a Board certified cardiologist scan my Cornish Rexes and Sphynx yearly. I don't just say I do not have problems with heart issues, I ensure that I don't have it and can back it up with my scans. Bree's mother was returned to Sweden to her breeder and Bree's sister was spayed so there was no chance of passing on any defects if it was genetic in my lines.
